Athletes of the Week

Our KSEN/K96 Bozeman Trophy male athlete of the week has been one of guys stepping up to give the North Toole County Refiners a more balanced attack and more victories. Our female athlete of the week has been a consistent force and leader for the Cut Bank Lady Wolves all season long.

Senior Refiner, Jordan Williams recorded a triple-double in Sunbursts' key victory over Heart Butte last Friday night. Ten steals, twelve rebounds, and 19 points as the Refiners handed Heart Butte their first loss. Our KSEN announcing team had noted int he second half it seemed a loose ball turned up  and Williams showed every time as well. Williams added 13 points against Great Falls Central Saturday and then 26 Tuesday night against Dutton/Brady. Sunburst has now won nine of their last ten and head coach, Nate Aschim, says the team is balanced, taking some pressure off Treyton Pickering is probably a contributing factor to those victories.

Athletes of the Week

KSEN/K96 Bozeman Trophy athletes of the week not only had strong individual games but also contributed heavily to team imp[rovement and team success.

Our male athlete is six three junior, Brandon Aimsback of Browning who knocked down a season-high and career-high 32 points against Shelby last Friday night. Even though Shelby won the game eventually, Aimsback's play was outstanding and kept the Running Indians in the game throughout. Browning head coach, Mark Magee says Brandon is developing into a real inside presence and is also the team's leading rebounder. Browning came off the loss Friday night and beat a very good Fairfield team by 18 points after having lost to the Eagles in their first meeting by 11. Brandon Aimsback finished with 12 points in that game.

Athletes of the Week

KSEN/K96 Bozeman Trophy athletes of the week continue to lead their teams to big wins and a spot at the top of the conference standings.

He wasn't the only one, but the play of Cut Bank senior Evan Harrell was big in two key conference victories for the wolves over the weekend. The Cut Bank guard-forward go the wolves off to a quick start against Fairfield with ten points in the first quarter and ended the night with17 in a three-point Cut Bank win. The next night was even better against another one of the 1B's top ranked teams, Rocky Boy. Evan Harrell has been averaging in the high teens, but in the Rocky Boy game he lit it up with six three-pointers and 25 total, his season high. Cut Bank got the one point win in the game 74-73. Harrell is not only an offensive threat, but extremely quick on defense and, along with pressure from his teammates, helps to create a lot of turnovers at the top of the zone.
