Our KSEN/K96 Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week passed the ultimate tests in the state's biggest track and field meet.

Our male athlete of the week completed one of the top track seasons that we've seen in North Central Montana in years. Senior Cantor Coverdell accounted for a total of 32.5 points toward Fairfield's 60, which was enough to give them the boys' team state B Championship. In his featured event, the triple jump, Coverdell had his best effort of the season with a jump of 45 feet, five and 1/4 inches, second best in the state in all classes and his best jump of the year. Cantor also helped the Fairfield 400M relay team to a state championship, finished second in the long jump and javelin and had a fourth place in the discus. It was certainly an amazing display of athletic skills!

Our female athlete of the week is bound for the College of Idaho on a track scholarship. Senior, Peyton Durocher was almost as impressive. With a third place is the 100M, third place in the 200M and a second in the 400M, Durocher racked up 22.5 points, helping the Choteau team to a sixth place finish. Peyton was also key to Choteau's fourth straight state championship in the 400M Relay.

Honorable mention this week goes to Cut Bank's freshman pole vaulter, Dakota Manecke who placed sixth in the state competition with a nine foot vault. She also completed a nine foot six inch vault earlier in the season and will be fun to watch for the remainder of her career.

Congratulations to our KSEN/K96 - Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week; senior Cantor Coverdell of Fairfield and senior, Peyton Durocher of Choteau. The Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonald's in Cut Bank. McDonald's honors our athletes with two free value meals each.

And we encourage fans, coaches, teammates and parents to nominate athletes of the week. If you think they've had an exceptional performance email me at mark.daniels@townsquaremedia.com.
