Our KSEN/K96—Bozeman Trophy Athlete’s of the Week covered the field and the court last week for Cut Bank and Valier.

Our Male Athlete of the Week, Sr. running back Colton Barsness of Cut Bank, ran around, thru and past the Wolf Pt. defense and in the words of Head Coach Dylan Johnston, “he really made things happen when he had the ball in his hands.” On the night, Colton carried the ball 17 times and ran off 171 yards with 3 touchdowns.  One particular run, in which he scored his 1st touchdown, he made no less than 3 Wolf Point tacklers miss and somehow dove into the end zone after the final tackler tripped him up but still couldn’t keep him out. Led by Barsness and some other great efforts, Cut Bank secured the win, improving their conference record to 2-2 and kept their playoff hopes alive for the end of the season.

Our female Athlete of the Week, according to coach Rhanda EagleSpeaker, had awesome coverage of the floor the entire night.  Valier’s Jr. outside hitter Skylar Connelly led the Panthers in numerous categories in a tough 5-game match against Power.  That includes 5 of the team’s 14 aces, 2.5 blocks, and 8 digs.  EagleSpeaker says Connelly took 32 serves as Power seemed to target the spot but Connelly never backed down. EagleSpeaker called her a “great asset to the team that night, with great energy and beautiful hits.”

Congratulations to our KSEN/K96—Bozeman trophy Athlete’s of the Week, Jr. Skylar Connelly of Valier and Sr. Colton Barsness of Cut Bank.  The Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonald’s in Cut Bank.  McDonald’s honors our Athletes with two free value meals each.   We encourage all fans, coaches or parents to nominate Athletes who you believe has had an outstanding week in sports.
