Our KSEN/K96- Bozeman trophy athlete of the week did just about everything possible to get Fairfield a Divisional Championship last weekend. Even though the lady Eagles came up just two points shy of that goal, the effort, led by senior Natalie Klinker had to give the team and the fans the belief that a state championship is still a very real possibility. Natalie started the weekend off with a solid 24 points in a Fairfield win over Wolf Point and as the weekend moved along and the games got more important she just kept getting better. Much is said about points in high school basketball, but in Natalie's case, so many of the points are the result of getting her own rebounds and everybody else's. When all was said and done, Natalie had 26 points, 15 rebounds, two steals and a blocked shot in that Northern Divisional Championship game. The night before, in a convincing win over Rocky Boy she also had 15 rebounds, 21 points, and three blocked shots. In those two games, she shot better than 63 percent from the field.

Congratulations to our KSEN/K96 - Bozeman Trophy Athlete of the Week; senior Natalie Klinker of the Fairfield Lady Eagles. The Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonald's in Cut Bank. McDonald's honors our athletes with two free value meals each.

And we encourage fans, coaches, teammates and parents to nominate athletes of the week. If you think they've had an exceptional performance email me at mark.daniels@townsquaremedia.com.
