Athlete of the Week Honors to a Shelby Coyote
KSEN Bozeman Trophy Athlete of the week honors go to a player who had a career high scoring night and led his team to two impressive, confidence building wins. Shelby Junior Andrew Johnson fired away for 39 big ones in Shelby 80/72 win over conference rival Rocky Boy Saturday night. Johnson, as a junior, is Shelby’s only upper classman on the team and definitely has to take on the role as a leader, which he definitely did this weekend. Johnson was not a full-fledged starter as a freshman, but he got lots of playing time then and was a starter as a sophomore. Coyote coach Tom Reynolds says he’s a player that loves the game and it was fun to see him have such a great night. And it wasn’t just scoring Andrew was a rebounding force, especially in the come-back win over Browning Friday night with ten and he also had 14 points in that game. In addition to the 39 points against Rocky Boy, Andrew also had ten rebounds, six on the defensive boards and four on the offensive, it was quite a night. Congratulations to our Athlete of the week, Junior Andrew Johnson of Shelby.
The athlete of the week is sponsored locally by McDonalds of Cut Bank. McDonalds provides our athlete with two free value meals.
