We started the weekend with five of our local teams heading into the playoffs and ended it with one team left.

It started on Friday night with a very close  28/25 Choteau loss to Bigfork. Boyd Rieke had a trio of touchdown runs, including one late in the fourth quarter after Choteau failed a fourth down conversion,

We know that Class B will have a new champion after the 2011 Champion Fairfield Eagles lost a heart-breaker at home against the Glasgow Scotties 27/26.Fairfield put up a good fight, with Glasgow scoring the game winner with 4:50 left in the fourth. Fairfield was able to hold the Scotties and force them to punt. "so we got the ball back with 49 seconds left. We went downfield again, needed a pass to stop the clock, but no one was open so we ran the ball to the five. Then time ran out." a disappointed Head Coach Les Meyer told the Great Falls Tribune.

Cut Bank was unable to score against a very good Missoula Loyola team on the road on Saturday. Tyler Ollinger finished with 86 yards on eight of 19 passing and led the wolves with 56 rushing yards on 16 carries.

Previously unbeaten CJI fell to Drummond in Chester on Saturday. CJI, who got rushing scores from Dustin Romain and Jordan Oraw finished their season 9-1.

The only local team to survive the first round was Valier with a 65/41 win over Alberton on the road. Clint Christiaens passed for 257 yards and seven touchdowns to lead the fourth ranked Valier Panthers over #7 Alberton in the first round of the Class C 6Man Playoffs. Christiaens finished 15 for 29 and had two scoring passes to Justin Sullivan and Goerel Tatsey and three to Cooper Hawke. Cody Berg returned a kickoff 74 yards and scored on another 45 yard run. Valier will meet Bridger on the road in the quarterfinals.
