The 2012 Oscars managed to include the expected and shocks all at the same time. Odds on favorite, ‘The Artist’, won five awards including Best Picture, Best Actor for Jean Dujardin and Best Director for Michel Hazanivicius. But ‘Hugo’ gave it a run for its money, also bringing home five awards (though none in the major categories).

Everyone has their own predictions as to which movie will snag the 2012 Oscar for Best Picture, but apparently no one’s guess is more important than that of ‘The Artist’s‘ top dog Uggie. Jimmy Kimmel brought the 9-year-old Jack Russell on his show to settle this great debate once and for all.

On Sunday, Hollywood will once again congratulate itself on a year of jobs well done. What’s unbelievably ridiculous about the Academy Awards is that in a sea of incredibly talented performances, the award can go to only one person. It just seems wrong.

Readers will recall that the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences reportedly revoked Baron Cohen’s tickets after he threatened to show up as the fictional tyrant from his new movie ‘The Dictator.’

In the sort of move we’ve come to expect from Sacha Baron Cohen, the shape-shifting actor has threatened to show up at Sunday’s Academy Awards dressed as the character from his new film ‘The Dictator.’ Not surprisingly, Academy officials balked at the idea and said Baron Cohen would only be allowed to attend if he promises to show up as himself.
