(CUT BANK) – KSEN/K96 – Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the week have been solid performers all season long in girls’ basketball and wrestling and this past weekend was no exception.

Our male athlete of the week is Cut Bank Heavyweight, junior, Justin Pfeiffer. Justin has had a tremendous CMR Holiday Classic, a second at the Cut Bank Invitational and a championship at the Choteau Classic. Add to that a championship at the Northern B-C Divisional last weekend in Chinook…defeating Denver Krone of Choteau in the championship match 4-2. Justin will head to the State B/C with a 30-8 record. Head Coach Cody Fetters says they are really looking forward to the opportunity to beat two wrestlers that Justin has lost to, but who they think he can beat. The coach says Justin is a hard worker with a great attitude and always a leader with encouraging words for his teammates.

Our female athlete of the week is also from Cut Bank and had another big weekend in scoring. Senior Dakota Dosch dropped in 21 points against Browning and another 15 in the Saturday game against Shelby. Dakota was in foul trouble in the first half of the Shelby game and she undoubtedly turned things around when she got back in in the second half.

Fourteen of Dakota’s 15 points came in the second half and she also came up with a great defensive effort with numerous rebounds and steals, just like the one you just heard.

Dosch was a first team all-conference pick her junior year and is continuing the trend, leading Cut Bank to a 6-3 conference record and third place in the 1B currently.

Congratulations to our KSEN/K96 Bozeman Trophy athletes of the week, junior Justin Pfeifer of Cut Bank and senior Dakota D0sch of Cut Bank. The Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonald’s in Cut Bank. McDonald’s provides our athletes with two free value meals each.
