Montana PBS “Backroads” Leads to Bynum, Muddy Creek Falls Tonight.

BOZEMAN — “Gravity’s Pull,” the newest episode of “Backroads of Montana,” will debut at 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, on Montana PBS.

Longtime story producer John Twiggs, who said the theme of the episode is the forces of the universe, will host the program from the Trout Creek Huckleberry Festival in northwest Montana. Since 1979, the festival has paired the beloved berry with local arts.

The episode details the story of a contemporary Helena couple, Marilyn and Jeff Bomar, who decided to get married in Virginia City and who later became historical home owners in the ghost town. “Backroads of Montana” shares the chain of events that gave the Bomars the key to the territorial governor’s mansion on Wallace Street.

The show will also take viewers to an out-of-the-way trail near Bynum, which provides scenic surprises along the Rocky Mountain Front, and share information about the geology leading to Muddy Creek Falls.

In addition, viewers will visit the tiny community of Edgar, where Greg Nelson has combined his passion for cars and art to create a sculpture garden he calls “Ford Henge.”

Finally, “Backroads” viewers will learn how objects traveling from deep in the solar system found their way to a garage in Malta and meet a man who has turned a longtime fascination with meteorites into a unique business.
