Pizza & Pork Rinds Contaminated with Salmonella Sold in Montana Stores
When you're always on the go, finding time to make dinner or prep a meal can be time-consuming. Or maybe it's as simple as finding something to eat that everyone in your house can agree on.
For a lot of people, the solution comes in the form of a frozen pizza.
Pizza and Popular Snacks Sold in Walmart Are Contaminated
In a recent release from the Food Safety and Inspection Service, a public safety alert for meat and poultry was announced.
Officials say select products contain "FDA-regulated dairy ingredients that may be contaminated with Salmonella."
Thankfully, there have been no reported illnesses from the infected products but still, consumers should use extra caution as salmonella is no joke.

While not necessarily lethal, salmonella can cause a variety of miserable symptoms including "diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever within 6 hours to 6 days after eating the contaminated product" according to the FSIS.
Which Products Are Contaminated with Salmonella?
Infected products are made up of two things: pizza and pork rinds. I know - random, but here we are. According to the FSIS, the following products potentially contaminated with salmonella are:

I still can't get over this random combo. How crazy would it be if someone had one of each of these in their homes? It's possible according to the FSIS.
"FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ or retailers’ refrigerators or freezers," the public safety alert says, "Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them."

"Retailers who have purchased these products are urged not to serve or sell them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase."
Be safe out there and be sure to let me know what happens if you decide to return your salmonella to Walmart! I would love to know how that conversation goes down.
