Thanks in part to our healthy & hearty "Montana" cows, milk is regarded as a "complete food" because of its rich content of protein, fat, carbohydrates, all known vitamins & various minerals essential for sustaining life & maintaining good health. As the month of March heads to a close, KSEN & K 96 FM has been honoring Agriculture all this month. This year's theme for National Ag Day 2020, was "Food Brings Everyone to the Table." I submit "Montana Milk" brings folks to the table too, with the number of milk cows on farms in the United States coming in at 9.37 MILLION head! Production per cow in the United States averaged 1,907 pounds last month, 93 pounds ABOVE February 2019! That's not all that up either...milk production around the country last month totaled 17.9 BILLION pounds, & that's up too... 93 pounds ABOVE February back in 2019. Production looks great too, with the 24 major states averaging 1,927 pounds last month, 94 pounds ABOVE last February. We thank our Montana milk producers & wish them many, many more successful years to come. We're indeed grateful & proud to share their success story during Montana Agriculture Appreciation.
