"This is not a drill! We're coming to Bozeman!" That's right folks. It's official. ESPN's College GameDay will be at the Cat-Griz game this year in Bozeman, Montana coming up Saturday.

SI.com has this:

ESPN’s flagship pregame show announced it will head to Bozeman next Saturday for a matchup between Montana and Montana State. The historic rivalry, known as the Brawl of the Wild, dates to 1897 and is the fourth-oldest rivalry game in the FCS.

Here's the official announcement from ESPN:

Montana's US Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) was also quick to hail the news, being a proud Montana State University alum himself:

This isn't the first time an FCS game will serve as host to ESPN's GameDay, as 406MTSports.com noted:

This is the first time GameDay has chosen a Big Sky Conference game. It had visited Football Championship Subdivision towns 11 times before this, including twice in Fargo, North Dakota, for North Dakota State games. It went to Jackson, Mississippi, last month for Jackson State's game against Southern.

As we reported nearly a week ago, the effort to draft ESPN's GameDay to Montana has been going on since before last year's Cat-Griz game in Missoula. One Missoula lawmaker even began drafting legislation to bring the game to Missoula. How ironic then that the game will not actually be in Missoula, but Bozeman after all.

Here's the video from last year as the state's Republican and Democrat senators teamed up to try and recruit ESPN to Montana.

And here's a highlight reel of previous Cat-Griz games going back to the 1980s. What's the latest tally? As Kyle Hansen reports:

The Grizzlies beat the Bobcats 29-10 in Missoula last year. Prior to that, MSU had won four straight games in the rivalry.
