Both of our KSEN/K96—Bozeman Trophy Athlete’s of the Week played big roles in their team’s success in last week’s Divisional Championships and we should add, all season long, just to get to those Championships.

Shelby Jr. Rhett Reynolds wasn’t always the Coyotes leading scorer but pretty much always their leading rebounder and shot blocker. He averaged a double-double throughout the season and had a season high 30-points and 11-rebounds against Conrad in the regular season.

In last week’s Divisional Tournament, acknowledging Taylor Parson’s buzzer beater to beat Rocky Boy, Reynolds led the way with total points of 25 and had double digit rebounds. He also had 12-points, 12 rebounds, and 3 assists and 3 steals in the Championship win over Fairfield. And, it was so good, I couldn’t help but bring back the game winner against Fairfield in double overtime the week before.

Our female Athlete of the Week has also played a key role in the Fairfield Lady Eagles Conference and District Championship and Divisional Championship game appearance. Sr. Madison Rosenbaum isn’t known for putting up huge numbers, but as a leader and role player she is as solid as they come.

At the point guard, Fairfield Head Coach Travis Schenk says we rely on her heavily to get the ball up the court when there’s pressure. “She’s always in the right position on defense and the communication she provides is invaluable.” “On the emotional level Madison keeps things positive when things aren’t going that well.” The Coach adds that she just does a lot of things for this team that don’t always show up on the stat sheet but they mean a lot to the team’s success.

With that said, Rosenbaum averaged 8-points per game in the Divisional along with 2 assists, 2 steals and 4-rebounds.

Congratulations to our KSEN/K96—Bozeman Trophy Athlete’s of the Week, Jr. Rhett Reynolds of Shelby, and Sr. Madison Rosembaum of Fairfield. The Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonald’s in Cut Bank. McDonald’s honors our Athlete’s with two free value meals each.
