Oh, how I wish I was kidding!
Summer only just arrived in Northcentral Montana and it's almost over already. Yesterday, Glacier National park posted a photo of the first turning leaves on its Facebook page, and now this:
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for elevations above 6500 feet beginning at midnight Wednesday through noon on Thursday. Expect 1-3 inches of light snow at the higher elevations of Glacier National Park, including Logan Pass.  Expect a mixture of rain and snow at times during the period, with accumulations mainly confined to the grassy areas. Snow should taper off by late morning Thursday.
A few years ago, some friends and I drove over Going to the Sun and ran into a little snowstorm at Logan Pass with thunder and lightning! Meteorologists call that "thunder snow".
