THE WOMEN FROM CHESTER

This week I had the opportunity to meet Pat Ludwig and Betty Marshall from the Chester Council On Aging. They were my special guests Monday afternoon and our listeners learned all about the new Community Center for Liberty County. Right now they're in the process of raising funds for some added luxuries for the center. Raffle tickets are being sold and the prizes are fantastic! Raffle prizes include a quilt, an afghan, a steam cleaner, and two fabulous gift baskets. When you purchase a ticket for one dollar or six of them for $5.00, you can specify which prize you'd like to win. Plus they're offering marble slates which will be beautifully displayed on a permanent wall in the new center. I encourage you to purchase some raffle tickets or even look into buying one of those beautiful marble slates. The funds raised will go toward paving the grounds outside the new center, a fancy canopy over the entrance, and a fireplace not to mention landscaping. The new community center will be on the east side of Chester and I can't wait to see it when it's all done.
