KSEN/K96 – Bozeman trophy Athletes of the week had nothing less than winning performances on the court and on the mat this weekend. Our first athlete of the week from the brand new girls’ basketball season is just a sophomore but already has a lot of experience under her belt.  Allix Goldhahn won a starting position as a freshman and now with just one years’ experience, she has quickly turned into a leader. After averaging more than 13-points a game as a freshman, she opened the season with 22-points in an opening game win against Helena Christian.  That included 14 straight in the second half when the Lady Hawks had fallen behind by eight points in the third quarter. Goldhahn came back with 18 points Saturday night. But it wasn’t just the shooting, she also pulled down 10 rebounds, had eight steals and five assists. Allix is the daughter of CJI head coach Pat Goldhahn who says “We mostly keep basketball and home life separate unless she brings it up.”   Of course at the gym he says “I’m the coach and she’s one of the players. “ Allix is a 3-sport athlete who gained all-conference status in volleyball her sophomore season and qualified for the state track meet in four events last spring.

Our male athlete of the week for the second week in a row comes from the Choteau wrestling team.     Also a sophomore, Joey Clark took the championship at the Forsyth invitational at 170-pounds last weekend.    In his first ever high school championship, Clark pinned four straight opponents and upped his record to 8-1 on the year.   He also pinned his opponent in a dual match against Lewistown on Thursday.

Congratulations to our KSEN/K96FM Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the week, Sophomore Allix Goldhan of CJI and Sophomore Joey Clark of Choteau. The Athlete of the week is sponsored locally by McDonalds in Cut Bank. McDonalds provides our athletes of the week with a free value meal.
