Colorectal cancer is the number 2 cancer KILLER in north central Montana and the United States, yet it's one of the most preventable types of cancer and is OFTEN CURABLE when detected early. Colorectal cancer is second to only lung cancer as the leading cause of cancer deaths affecting both men and women equally. Yet few Americans know that colorectal cancer can be prevented, not just detected, through screening tests. With detection at the earliest stage, survival chances are better than 90%. This month, March, is Colorectal Cancer Screening Month and my guest at 4:35 this afternoon will be Dr. Felice Schnoll-Sussman, a member of the American College of Gastroenterology. She's must know what she's talking about because she has a long last name plus she has initials before AND after her name. I intend to prepare for my interview this afternoon by learning how to pronounce her not only her last name but also these other long words. I know that no one enjoys a visit from the "rear admiral" but screening for this test could save your life. We'll find out more this afternoon on the Puffman Show.
