She's Mary MacLane, & we'll be meeting Mary tonight (Tuesday) during Montana History up at the Marias Heritage Center. Temperance advocate Carrie Nation once pronounced Mary "the example of a woman who has been unwomanly in everything that she is noted for." Strong words Carrie, strong words! Sounds to me like she was a "sassy" woman. We'll find out the "story-behind-the-story" when we read & enjoy more of the book, "Beyond Schoolmarms and Madam;: Montana Women's Stories" at the Heritage. I'll look forward to reading & sharing more Montana History commencing at 6 tonight at the Marias Heritage Center here in Shelby.
