An attorney for a Louisiana oil company is asking the judge to REJECT the government's proposed timeline for lifting its hold on an energy lease in Montana that's on land sacred to American Indians. A federal historic preservation panel will be holding the Badger/Two Medicine Public Meeting tomorrow afternoon (Wednesday) down in Choteau. Our news director, Mark Daniels, will be on assignment to that meeting & will be filing reports tomorrow afternoon & early evening on KSEN AM 1150 & K-96 FM. The oil company attorney submits that the government's schedule will add YEARS to the 3 decade delay the company has already endured. He's requesting U.S. District Judge Richard Leon to lift a suspension on the lease in order that the Baton Rouge oil company, Solenex LLC, can begin drilling. Meanwhile, the Blackfeet tribes of the U.S. & Canada are opposed to drilling on what they consider their "Spiritual Homeland.
