The Center 4 Mental Health Advisory board will have their final meeting before "summer recess" Thursday (tomorrow) morning at 8 at the Griddle. It is my pleasure to serve as president of the local advisory board. The Center partners with people and communities to produce exceptional mental health and substance abuse services. Our center currently has over 100 "open cases" in our service area of both Toole and Pondera counties. Our vision is "partnering to improve lives" and in the past four or five years that I have had the opportunity to serve on the board, I have seen this come to fruition many times over. The Center 4 Mental Health here in Shelby truly believes in not only giving hope but treating their clients with dignity and respect while encouraging personal and professional growth with an emphasis on resilience and recovery. We recognize the importance of family and continue to help reduce the stigma of mental illness. We are always looking for new board members and if you're interesting in joining with us to give hope to those who have little or none, please contact me for information on becoming a member of our board. In the meantime, I look forward to seeing you all at Thursday morning's meeting. It's all about COMMUNITY.
