Glacier National Park Hosts Next InstaMeet May 28
WEST GLACIER, MT – Glacier National Park and Glacier National Park Conservancy are hosting an InstaMeet at the foot of Lake McDonald on Saturday, May 28, 2016. Interested participants will gather at the Apgar Public Boat dock from 8:00 p.m. till sunset. At an InstaMeet, visitors come together to connect, explore, and celebrate digital creativity using the Park as a subject and backdrop. All ages, experience levels and types of camera are welcome. Park staff will be on hand to answer questions.

InstaMeets are scheduled at the park every other Saturday at sunset in various locations throughout the park beginning May 28 through the end of August. The NPS Centennial summer Instameet schedule will culminate on Thursday, August 25, the actual 100th birthday of the National Park Service. The full schedule is available online at go.nps.gov/instameets.

The park Instagram site, @GlacierNPS, currently has approximately 271,000 followers. The park’s InstaMeet program was recently featured by Instagram during last month’s WorldWide InstaMeet.

“Glacier’s Instagram feed @GlacierNPS is almost entirely visitor generated content,” said Jacob W. Frank, aka “Ranger Jake,” the park’s visual information specialist.  “It’s been a blast to meet all the people behind the photos we have been sharing these last two years.”

The park is on Instagram: @GlacierNPS.  Visitors who tag  photos with #glaciernps have a chance to be featured on the park’s Instagram feed.
