We've got a crackling hot shot to share with you this 4th of July weekend as much of the Northwest finds itself in a heat wave!  We'll be heading to Pendleton, Oregon to start off with where we'll visit the Tamaslikt Cultural Institute and talk to Gary Lentz about primitive fire starting skills...the kind that don't involve matches or fireworks!  While we are there we'll also tell you about the Living Cultural Village events being put on every weekend this summer by the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation and the huge Pow Wow taking place at the Wildhorse Resort Casino.

After that it's time to talk salmon fishing!  Kyle Martin with Fins and Scales Guide Service has got the scoop about how to catch coho salmon off the Oregon Coast this summer and Peter Flohr previews a Coastal Conservation Association's sponsored chinook salmon and separate sockeye salmon derby taking place on the Upper Columbia River this month in Central Washington.  If you need a good lure for those returning sockeye Lance Merz has just what you need and will tell you about it during an extended Mack's Minute.  Throw in fishing reports from Yellowstone National Park and from Eastern Washington's Potholes Reservoir and you'll have the fishing info you need to succeed this month!  Find out more about the show and our guests at www.northwesternoutdoors.com
