America's battle with sugary drinks is nothing new. What is new is this powerful commercial reminding you of the dangers of drinking them.

In this spot, made by the Center for Science in the Public Interest, the classic hilltop commercial made by Coke is updated with everyday people singing along to the tune in the original spot while discussing the health risks associated with soda.

Diabetes, obesity, tooth decay -- they're all here to remind you that sugary drinks are wreaking havoc on our bodies.

Michael Jacobson, executive director of CSPI, said it's time to turn the tables on the sugary drink business:

For the past 45 years, Coca-Cola and other makers of sugar drinks have used the most sophisticated and manipulative advertising techniques to convince children and adults alike that a disease-promoting drink will make them feel warm and fuzzy inside. It’s a multi-billion-dollar brainwashing campaign designed to distract us away from our diabetes with happy thoughts. We thought it was time to change the tune."
