A Smoking Good Time

Slopestyle skiing & snowboarding were new Olympic sports this year over in Sochi, & the SMOKING Aces Slopestyle Tour paid a visit recently to Big Sky Country! Big Sky Resort hosted the 3rd stop in the tour called "The Ace of Hearts" last Saturday, in the Zero Gravity Park near the Madison Base Area of Big Sky Resort. Competitors in the slopestyle event skied or snowboarded down a run in the Zero Gravity Park, flew off of jumps & slides across man made features, such as boxes & handrails. They were judged by a panel of experts that did NOT include myself(!), based upon difficulty, amplitude & overall impression. There were 5 divisions within the Aces of Hearts Slopestyle competition ranging from 12 year of age & under to 21 & over to the Open class. Competitors also competed for the chance to become the 2014 Smoking Aces Tour Champion! The skier or snowboarder in each division who acquired the most points after the culmination of the tour championship event will be crowned "Tour's Aces of Hearts" NEXT Saturday March 22nd.
