WHY Is It Called Lent?

This 40-day span in time comes from an old English word meaning "lengthen." That's because of the time when Lent happens as that's when our days start to get longer as we approach summer. Conrad's Lenten Luncheons get underway this Thursday, at St. Michaels Church, from noon until 12:50. The Conrad community's invited to join in this short time of Fellowship together.
