We’re Minding Our P’s & L’s

As Montana Agriculture Appreciation rolls along through March, I'm reminded of our P's & "'s...peas & lentils, & I'm talking DRY edible peas. In fact, Montana's the #1 producer of lentils & dry edible peas in the entire USA! Often times, "city folk" will come up to me & say, "Puffman, exactly how big IS an acre?" I like to give them a little something to wrap their heads around, so I often remind them that ONE acre of Montana corn ALONE will give off over 4000 gallons of water due to evaporation! Here's another one...1/3 of the United States, or 750 million ACRES, is covered with trees. March has been a month to not only honor agriculture, but also to recognize & celebrate the downright abundance provided BY Agriculture, "Food for Life." Please pass the peas...
