Up Helly Ya, known to some as The Viking Festival, is underway in Lerwick, Scotland. Talk about a party! Massive torchlit parades, guises (costumes), and one presumes just a wee bit of carrying on at the local pub.   Check out the video after the jump:

It happens every year on the last Tuesday in January, so you can begin making plans for 2012 now.
