Philip Aaberg Returns to LVAC Aug. 28th
(Sweetgrass Music) Pianist/composer Philip Aaberg is pleased to bring a very special performance to the Liberty Village Arts Center in Chester. Join us on Sunday, August 28 at 2pm and treat yourself to a stellar concert of piano, accordion and fiddle, playing music from traditions around the world.
David Romtvedt is a man of many talents. In addition to being an accomplished button accordion player with a deep knowledge of traditional music of the Americas, he runs the Creative Writing Program at the University of Wyoming. Poet Laureate of Wyoming from 2004-2011, he is the recipient of a National endowment for the Arts fellowship in poetry, NEA tri-national Exchange fellowship in poetry and music, the Pushcart Prize, the National Poetry Series Prize, Wyoming Arts Council Literature Fellowship, the Wyoming Governor’s Arts Award, and the Wyoming Music Educators Association Distinguished Service to Music Education Award.
Fiddle player Caitlin Belem plays a mixture of Latin American and North American music, focusing in Brazilian and Cuban music, and old-style swing, blues, and jazz. It is music to make you happy, make you think, make you want to move, or just make you smile.
Add these three talents together, and you have the recipe for an afternoon of delightful music and conversation at the Liberty Village Arts Center! 100% of donations at the door will benefit the Liberty Village Arts Center & Gallery.
This performance is sponsored by The Reiland Memorial Trust, and a hearty thanks for their support.
