Pedestrian struck and killed near Poplar

HELENA, Mont. (AP) — A 22-year-old Poplar man was struck and killed while walking along a rural road north of Poplar.

The Montana Highway Patrol says a southbound pickup struck the man from behind shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday. The victim was thrown off the road into the ditch and died at the scene.

The driver of the pickup fled the scene and is still being sought. The victim's name hasn't been released.
