KSEN Athletes of the Week both Eagles
KSEN/K96 – BOZEMAN TROPHY ATHLETES OF THE WEEK BOTH COME FROM FAIRFIELD WHERE THE EAGLE FOOTBALL TEAM ADVANCES ON TO THE STATE B CHAMPIONSHIPGAME AND THE EAGLES VOLLEYBALLL TEAM CONCLUDED THEIR SEASON WITH A TRIP TO THE STATETOURNAMENT.
OUR FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK IS FAIRFIELD’S SR. OUTSIDE HITTER TALEIGH ISAKSON WHO LED THE LADY EAGLES WITH 9 OF THE TEAMS 24 KILLS AND HAD 1 ACE IN A 3-0 LOSS TO FLORENCE. SHE WAS ALSO THE TEAM LEADER IN A 3-0 LOSS TO RED LODGE WHICH, IN REALITY WAS A MATCH THAT FAIRFIELD JUST COULDN’T GET MUCH GOING BUT ISAKSON STILL HAD 2 KILLS, AN ACE AND 3 BLOCKS.
ISAKSON AT 5-7 IS NOT THAT BIG FOR AN OUTSIDE HITTER BUT WHEN SHE GETS THE RIGHT SET SHE CAN SLAM IT DOWN WITH THE BEST OF THEM. SHE WAS FAIRFIELD’S KILL LEADER FOR THE SEASON WITH 257. SHE WAS ALSO SECOND ON THE TEAM WITH OVER 90-PERCENT SERVING AND 3RD BEST ON THE TEAM WITH 54 ACES.
1ST YEAR HEAD COACH COURTNEY BAKE SAYS TALEIGH IS DEFINITELY AN ALL-AROUND TEAM LEADER AND A GREAT KID TO COACH. SHE PLAYED A HUGE ROLE IN FAIRFIELD FINISHING SECOND IN THE NORTHERN B DIVISIONAL AND QUALIFYING FOR THE STATE TOURNAMENT FIELD.
MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK HONORS FOR THE 2ND TIME THIS SEASON GO TO FAIRFIELD JR. TIGHT END AND DEFENSIVE END CHANDLER ALLEN. WHERE DO WE START WITH CHANDLER’S ATHLETIC ABILITY, HIGHLIGHTED BY THE FACT THAT THE EAGLES USE HIM ON THE LINE AT TIGHT END BUT HE PLAYS LIKE A WIDE RECEIVER, IS A KEY RUSHER ON THE D. LINE AND MOVES INTO THE WILDCAT POSITION AT TIMES TO TAKE DIRECT SNAPS AND RUN THE BALL.
ALLEN ENDED THE DAY WITH 6 CATCHES FOR 138 YARDS AND 1TD……..AND 5 CARRIES FOR 51 YARDS ON THE GROUND. FAIRFIELD’S SOLID WIN OVER BAKER IN THE STATE B SEMIFINALS WAS A GREAT TEAM WIN, HIGHLIGHTED ONCE AGAIN BY SOME EXCEPTIONAL INDIVIDUAL PLAY BY THE LIKES OF ALLEN.
