EPA Calls Public Meeting For Conrad
The EPA will be conducting a public hearing next Tuesday night, the 23rd, in Conrad. The meeting begins at 5:30 in the Conrad High School Auditorium. The meeting's seeking public comments pertaining to the expansion of the proposed aquifer exemption for 2 Class V underground injection wells into the Madison Aquifer near the Rocky Mountain Front. The area of review would increase the affected area from a quarter mile radius to 6.4 square miles from the injection site to account for the underground migration of the injected high-strength industrial wastewater over the next 10,000 years. 10,000 years? ME? I'm worried about tomorrow! Everyone's encouraged to attend, ask questions & share their public comments. I guess my public comment would be the old proverb, "you never miss the water until the well runs dry."
