KSEN/K96 Athletes of the Week
Despite having hosted our annual Athlete of the Year Banquet and naming Sr. Ryland St. John and Jr. Brynn Kammerzell, both from CJI, as our Athletes of the Year, we continue to name an Athlete of the Week, thru the end of the spring sports season. There are still plenty of impressive performances happening, especially on the track this past weekend.
Our Male Athlete of the Week is in prime position to become a State Champion. Choteau Jr. Kesston Thomas has been on top of the Javelin standings for most of the season and he remains there after his throw at the highly competitive Archie Roe Meet in Kalispell last weekend. Kesston has the best throw in Class B, as well as All-Class on the State level. He cemented that position with his best throw of the year at 195'8". Go step that off on the Football field and see just how long it is. The best throw in Mt. High School history was just accomplished last year at 214' 8" by Hunter Loesch of Corvallis. Needless to say, Thomas won the event in Kalispell and he also finished 6th in the Shot Put.
Our Female Athlete of the Week has been at or near the top all season long in the Shot Put and the Discus. At the Archie Roe meet, Shelby Jr. Eleanor Heaton placed 3rd in the discus with a throw of 112' 10". The winning throw was 122 and 2nd place 115. Eleanor also placed, finishing 4th in the Shot Put with a throw of 33' 11". The Archie Roe meet features some of the best AA, A, & B schools in the State. Eleanor Heaton is also a huge contributor to the Shelby Coyote Basketball Team.
Congratulations to our KSEN/K96--Bozeman Trophy Athlete's of the Week, Jr. Kesston Thomas of Choteau and Jr. Eleanor Heaton of Shelby. The Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonald's in Cut Bank. McDonald's honors our Athlete's with two free value meals each.
