Did Benjamin Franklin Really Invent The Library?

In a word, the answer is a resounding "NO!" Old Ben didn't invent the library but he founded the very first subscription library in Philadelphia back in 1731. Flash forward to today...we all enjoy our Toole County Library. In fact, the Toole County Friends of the Library are kicking off the new year with a January meeting! The "Friends" will be meeting this tomorrow (Thurs) afternoon at...where else BUT, the Toole County Library in Shelby. Meeting time is High Noon, 12 noon SHARP.  We may have Facebook & Google these days, but the answer to everything is still in a good old book from Shelby's Toole County Library.
