LOCAL SPORTS – “ATHLETE OF THE WEEK”

– KSEN/K96 Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week led their teams to big conference wins in the 1B District and won out over several quality nominations.

Male Athlete of the Week honors go to Cut Bank Sr. QB Tate Monroe who sparked a passing game that hasn’t been seen in Cut Bank for a long while. With a talented group of receivers, Monroe passed for 292 yards on 19-32 completions and 5 Touchdowns.  He also ran for one score on a 28-yard, broken play scramble and ended the night with 5 runs for 63 yards.

Cut Bank had excellent receiving nights from a crop of receivers and a solid running game, but it was Monroe running the offense and his play in the defensive secondary that provided the spark and the leadership.

Our female Athlete of the Week, for the 2nd week in a row comes from the Shelby Volleyball team.  Sr. all-around player Cami Blevins led Shelby to Conference wins over Malta and Cut Bank.

Shelby Head Coach Lexy Fisher says Blevins “plays with fire and competitiveness every time she steps on the floor, leaving it all out on the court.”

Blevins led the Coyotes with 16 kills in the Cut Bank match and she had 23 digs and an ace in the win over Malta.

We also had a nomination for Addisyn Harrell, 9 aces and 2 blocks against Rocky Boy.  Adam Grammar-CJI, 83 yards, 2 TD’s an interception and 15 tackles on defense.  And, Justyce Yeager, 4-Touchdowns, including a pick six in Choteau’s win over Cascade.

Congratulations to our KSEN/K96-Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week, Sr. Tate Monroe of Cut Bank and Sr. Cami Blevins of Shelby.  The Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonald’s in Cut Bank. McDonald’s honors our Athletes of the Week with two free value meals each.
