KSEN/K96—BOZEMAN TROPHY ATHLETE’S OF THE WEEK CAME UP WITH BIG PERFORMANCES IN KEY CONFERENCE MATCHUPS IN FOOTBALL AND VOLLEYBALL THIS WEEK.

This week was the 2nd nomination of the year, and very deserving, for Choteau’s Jr. running back Nathan Gunderson.

In the Bulldog's conference win over Deer Lodge, Gunderson carried the ball 11 times for 224 yards and 2 Touchdowns.  Nathan also contributed 10 tackles on defense.

Choteau Head Coach Lucas Gunderson says his star running back hits the holes hard, follows his blocks up front and finds the cut back lanes.  That all adds up to a lot of yards.  He’s averaging 120 per game thru 4 games and has now crossed the goal line 7 times on the season.

Choteau is now 3-1 and in a 3-way tie for 2nd place in the South Central 8-player division.

On the Volleyball court a win over Choteau is a big win and most of the time considered an upset, but that’s exactly what Shelby pulled off last week.  There were a number of performances that stood out, including the performance by our Athlete of the Week, Jr. Adele Lamb.

Lamb led both teams in kills with 15 and added a number of aces, blocks and digs.  Her nominator said, “she had so many saves and just had a great game.”

In the Rocky Boy match Saturday, it wasn’t a real competitive match but in one of the 2 games that Shelby won 25-1, Lamb completed 13 of the serves in that game.

Lamb is also a quality starter on the Lady Coyotes Basketball team and a top performer in Track & Field.

Congratulations to our KSEN/K96—Bozeman Trophy Athlete’s of the Week.  Jr. Nathan Gunderson of Choteau and Jr. Adele Lamb of Shelby.  The Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonald’s in Cut Bank. McDonald’s honors our Athlete’s with two free value meals each.
