LOCAL SPORTS – “ATHLETE OF THE WEEK”

(SHELBY) – NOT AS MANY BIG-TIME PERFORMANCES AS LAST WEEK, BUT THERE WAS ONE NEARLY EQUAL TO A WEEK AGO, HOWEVER....

For the 2nd week in a row, Shelby Sr. Hayden Schilling was the main offensive weapon for Coach Logan Erickson as the Coyotes won for the 2nd week in a row against Chinook 30-20.

There were points in the game where it went a different direction but it was Schilling getting the ball play after play.

When all was said and done, Hayden ran for 158 yards and 3 Touchdowns.  He also had a huge fumble recovery on defense, which was one of only two turnovers by Chinook in the game and both were keys to Shelby’s victory.

Coach Erickson says “Hayden ran hard and was able to make people miss in the open field to pick up extra yards.”  The Coach says his vision for running the football gets better and better each week.

We had no nominations for female Athlete of the Week this week.

Congratulations to our KSEN/K96- Bozeman Trophy Athlete of the Week, Sr. Hayden Schilling of the Shelby Coyotes.  The Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonald’s in Cut Bank. McDonald’s honors our athlete’s with two free value meals.
