First and foremost, this isn't to get political - I'm only looking to share the facts that are already out there and hopefully, provide information to those who need it right here in Montana.

I'm also all about saving money and supporting our country; I'm not here to pick on anyone! That said - I do have some bad news for anyone who is waiting for their Trump phone or the "T1 Phone" as it's being called.

What is Trump Mobile?

One might think Trump Mobile is owned by President Donald Trump, but it's not. Rather, the company was founded by sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump.

"A big part of what we’ve done … has been focused on technology for people who have been underserved, whether that’s been in crypto or anything else, but one of the places where we felt there was lackluster performance was in the mobile industry," Donald Trump Jr. said at an event back in June 2025.

According to the site for Trump Mobile, the company's focused on "bringing American values back to wireless":

At TrumpSM Mobile, we are bringing American values back to wireless with a service that is simple, honest, and built around what truly matters. No confusing contracts. No hidden fees. No surprise charges. Just everything you need in one low monthly price.

The plans start at $45.47 (see what they did there?) and comes with all of the bells and whistles: unlimited everything, no contract, etc.

Trump Mobile's Big Announcement Comes with Bad News

Now, here's where things can be a little sour for those hoping to get their hands on an American-made Trump Mobile T1 phone, which reportedly begins shipping this week.

First, many of those who pre-ordered the phone were under the impression they were getting a phone that was made in America according to multiple sources including the Economic Times. Unfortunately, Trump Mobile shifted from "Made in America" to "Shaped by American Innovation."

The internet's divide on the phone was split further when the company unveiled the phone in a post on X that was not only flagged as being AI, but also had several critics pointing out the similarities between the T1 and "the T-Mobile REVVL 7 Pro 5G, which is manufactured in China and is reportedly sold for $128 at Walmart and Amazon."

And then there's the real bad news for those who don't care and just their T1 phone...

There is no official guarantee you'll get one even if you paid a deposit.

According to International Business Times, Trump Mobile's Terms & Conditions were updated on April 6, 2026, to state that paying upfront does not guarantee you will receive a phone.

According to the fine print from Trump Mobile's Terms & Conditions page:

A preorder deposit provides only a conditional opportunity if Trump Mobile later elects, in its sole discretion, to offer the Device for sale. A deposit is not a purchase, does not constitute acceptance of an order, does not create a contract for sale, does not transfer ownership or title interest, does not allocate or reserve specific inventory, and does not guarantee that a Device will be produced or made available for purchase.

Bummer, huh? Now, that's not to say the phone could still be the right fit for some and you may even get your phone after all.
