Last week I shared a story with you about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce coming to Montana to hang at the Yellowstone Club, presumably, for the start of their honeymoon.

The article drew a variety of reactions with a lot of people (seemingly) upset at the idea of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce setting up shop in Montana for the long-term.

But what if I told you Taylor Swift moving to Montana permanently would be good for the state?

There's obvious fear that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce could bring unwanted attention to Montana, similar to the show Yellowstone, that would drive more people to Montana.

That said, if Taylor Swift were to purchase a home in Montana, property values in the area would instantly increase.

Homeowners saw a 37.5% increase in property values from 2013 to 2019 when she bought her home in Rhode Island according to Pinnacle Real Estate Academy.

"Celebrities can add cachet to a neighborhood when they move in," Rick Kelly, senior vice president of Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate in New York City told CBS News.

"Successful people have the money to move and live pretty much wherever they want, so they can add buzz to certain neighborhoods just by moving in."

Local Spending Would Increase Dramatically if Taylor Swift Moved to Montana

Like I previously mentioned, the show Yellowstone has brought plenty of attention to Montana but that's not all it brought.

According to the Bureau of Business and Economic Research and the Institute for Tourism and Recreation Research at the University of Montana, a study revealed the impact of the show Yellowstone on Montana, with 2.1 million visitors coming to Montana in 2021 because of the show which resulted in $730.1 million being spent in the state.

Can you imagine what the kind of money Taylor Swift fans or "Swifties" would bring to the state? Especially if Taylor set up her own version of Elvis's "Graceland" in Montana?

Local Non-Profits Could Potentially Benefit if Taylor Swift Moved to Montana

Swift and Kelce are well-known for their philanthropy and you'd have to think if they called Montana home, they would put back into the community, right?

I'd like to believe if Taylor or Travis saw a fundraiser for a local school to get a new gym, they would happily chip in a few bucks toward the cause. Hey, one can dream, right?
