As the saying goes here in Montana, wait five minutes if you don't like the weather.

And let me tell you, friends, that's not far from the truth this week here in the Treasure State.

As soon as many of us have planted our gardens and turned on our sprinklers, a powerful winter blast is on track to impact Montana this week.

What Can You Expect With This Next Weather System?

As this next weather system approaches, extremely strong wind is expected to affect a large portion of North Central Montana and extend into Southwestern Montana.

Wind gusts in excess of 50 mph are not out of the question.

High-profile vehicles should use extreme caution in these regions, especially when traveling north to south across the state.

Below-average temperatures and snow are also anticipated.

Montana Snow Forecast

Most snow is expected to remain in the mountains, with only a winter mix impacting the foothills and plains.

Pockets of heavier rain or not are out of the question due to areas of more vigorous convection with this system.
