Montana Law Enforcement Make Arrest Following 118 MPH High-Speed Chase
This time of year can be a dangerous time to hit the road. Last month, Attorney General Austin Knudsen and the Montana Highway Patrol reminded drivers across Montana about the "100 Deadliest Days", a period where the number of fatal vehicle crashes increase across the state.
Despite the warning, there are still some people willing to put theirs and others' lives in danger.
High-Speed Chase in Montana
According to a post from Bozeman police, officers were led on a high-speed chase that began in a 35-mph zone.
"On June 7, an officer saw a vehicle traveling at highway speeds in a posted 35 mph zone," police said in a release. "The officer activated their emergency lights and tried to stop the vehicle, whose driver accelerated and led the officer in a traffic pursuit."

"During this pursuit, the driver reached speeds up to 118 mph with no lights on, drove the wrong way on the road, almost hit an ambulance, and failed to yield at a red traffic signal and stop signs."
118 miles per hour is insane already - can you imagine how dangerous that is when driving the wrong way? Not only that... it was also during evening hours so there's no telling how bad this could have been.
Thankfully, no one was hurt or killed... but there was fear from within the vehicle that something horrible could happen.

"Officers eventually stopped the vehicle and took the driver into custody," Bozeman police said. "The investigation determined there were two juvenile passengers in the car, one of whom said they were afraid the driver would crash the vehicle and hurt or kill them."
Bozeman High-Speed Suspect Faces Serious Charges
As you'd expect, the young driver will be facing some pretty hefty charges according to police including Reckless Driving, Fleeing or Eluding a Peace Officer, Criminal Endangerment, Fail to Have 2 Lighted Headlamps During Hours of Dark, Fail to Drive to Right of Roadway, Fail to Obey Red Traffic Signal, and Stop Sign Violation.
Be careful this summer and drive safely out there!
