See Where All Those Semis Are Headed

When traveling along the highway in Montana at some point you are going to come across a semi hauling cargo.

It might surprise you to find out just how far those semis travel from Montana and just how valuable the cargo is.

What Are The Most Commonly Transported Goods?

Personally, when I think of semis, I immediately think of cattle. Turns out agricultural products are some of the most transported goods in America.

Construction materials, gas and oil, food, and waste products round out the top 5 goods hauled the most each year.

So now we know what is on the majority of those semis, but again, where are they going, and just how far away are their destinations?

How Far Do Those Montana Semis Travel?

Depending on the cargo, some of those semis you see out on the road might even have a shorter travel distance than yourself.

Over the past couple of decades, thanks to things like local warehouses, the distance that these semis travel has been decreasing.

While the top two destinations nationally are California and Texas, respectively, neither one is in the top 5 when it comes to Montana.

No, most of those semis you see on our Montana highways are staying pretty close to the Big Sky, but that is not to say some do not make their way all over America.
