Travelers Were Told To NEVER Stop At These Risky Truck Stops

While we are still a long way away from summer in Montana, it's not too soon to start planning your summer vacations.

If your plans include a road trip with your family, just know there are some truck stops and gas stations you'll want to avoid on your travels.

Montana Has Two Of The Best Truck Stops

Before we tell you about the truck stops to avoid, why not have some positivity and highlight two of the best truck stops in America located right here in Montana?

Town Pump has not one but two truck stops that land on the Trucker Path website's list of the best truck stops for 2025.

Town Pump #924, located in Butte, and Town Pump #905, located just outside of Missoula, came in ranked at the #30 and #31 positions on their list.

Montana Is Safe; Our Neighbors Aren't So Lucky

Thankfully we here in Montana have not found any of our truck stops or gas stations listed as "DO NOT STOP" locations.

That's according to the Trucking 101 website, which each year puts out a list of the truck stops to avoid for both truckers and travelers alike.

Sadly, if you do plan on driving around our great nation this summer, there are some truck stops in our neighboring states that you will want to cross off your travel itinerary, as you'll see in the gallery below.

LOOK: See how much gasoline cost the year you started driving

To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.

Read on to explore the cost of gas over time and rediscover just how much a gallon was when you first started driving.

The 'World's Largest Truck Stop'

Recently, my wife and I took a road trip from Sioux Falls to Saginaw, Michigan.

Why would we drive 15 hours to Saginaw? My wife has family there, plus we were going to see a concert in Detroit, but the show was canceled.

Since we already had the time off from work so we decided to spend a few days in that 'tourist destination' known as Saginaw. Sure, it's not Vegas or Florida, but it was nice to get out of town for a few days.

We drove down Interstate 29 to the Omaha area and picked up Interstate 80 then headed east across Iowa. Just to the west of the Quad Cities sits Iowa 80, the self-proclaimed 'World's Largest Truck Stop'.
