In Choteau, you'll find Pishkun Provisions, a store that's built on something that feels pretty rare these days: trust.

According to KRTV, there are no cashiers, no employees stocking shelves, and no manager standing behind a counter. Customers simply walk in, pick out what they want, pay for it themselves, and head out the door.

The idea came from Chris Bechtold, who spent 25 years as an organic cattle and bison rancher before retiring. His goal wasn't to open just another grocery store. He wanted a place that celebrates products made right here in Montana.
