An $800 Million Manufacturing Campus Is Coming To Great Falls

One of the biggest new business investments in Great Falls is moving forward, and the massive manufacturing campus planned for AgriTech Park is starting to take shape.

Janicki Industries is building an $800 million campus on 180 acres, with plans for about 1.6 million square feet of production space. They've also just announced a familiar name who will help oversee operations at the Montana facility.

Former Malmstrom Commander Takes Leadership Role at Janicki

Daniel Voorhies, the former commander of the 341st Missile Wing at Malmstrom Air Force Base, will serve as senior director of operations for the campus.

According to KRTV, he'll help oversee day-to-day operations and prepare for the hiring and training needed to get the facility up and running.

Janicki plans to manufacture composite and metal parts, develop prototypes, and assemble products for customers in the aerospace, defense, and space industries.

The company broke ground on the project in July, and crews have been working on access roads as construction moves forward.

Janicki estimates the first building will open by the end of 2028, with around 200 employees expected to be working at the campus when operations begin.

Janicki's Great Falls Campus Could Eventually Create 2,000 Jobs

The long-term job projections are even bigger. Janicki expects to employ more than 1,000 people over the next five years, with the potential for at least 2,000 jobs once the entire project is completed.

The company has talked about hiring locally, which is where Voorhies comes into the picture. He retired from the Air Force after 25 years of service and is now taking on this new role in Great Falls.

Janicki also plans to work with Montana colleges to explore opportunities for local workers with experience in manufacturing, mechanics, and related fields.

Even though the first phase is still a couple of years away, this project is shaping up to be a major employer for Great Falls.
