FWP Seeks Comment on Draft Elk Management Plan & EA

HELENA – The Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife & Parks has released a draft environmental assessment (EA) of the 2023 Draft Elk Management Plan, and  is now accepting public comments on both.

The Draft Elk Management Plan lays out how FWP proposes to manage the state's elk population. The EA is an evaluation and summary of potential Impacts of the management plan on the physical environment and human population. An environmental assessment is required by the Montana Environmental Policy Act.

The deadline for comments on either or both documents is July 31.
