In April, 1942, FDR addressed North Central Montana along with the rest of our nation & called everyone to ACTION! FDR's words: "One front & one battle where everyone in the United States, every man, woman & child is in action. That front is right here at home, in our daily lives." The town of Darby did just that on June 9, 1942, by passing an ordinance authorizing blackout & air raid protection, orders, rules & regulations prescribing penalties for violation & declaring an EMERGENCY, in order to protect life & property in the Town of Darby from enemy action!
