I was at the Marias Heritage Center last evening (Tuesday) reading our Montana History and I was able to conclude the late William Yenne's (it rhymes with penny) tome, "Switchback". Most interesting, the man spent almost all of his life working for the National Park Service, most of it at Glacier...

That's the title of a Robin Ward tune from the early 60's and it rings really true as we race through August and into September. I can't believe that our 4 county fair has come and gone as well as Whoop Up Days, 4th of July weekend in Choteau, Grizzly Day, and Dutton Fun Day not to mention all the other fun activities this summer...

Full Amtrak service has returned to Shelby and the Hi Line. The Builder started rolling all the way from Chicago this week and once again full Amtrak passenger train service returns on the infamous Empire Builder route. Service had to be suspended last month from between Havre and Chicago because of the extreme flooding in the upper mid west...
