Country newcomer Brandy Clark teamed up with veteran Dwight Yoakam to perform her beautiful ballad, 'Hold My Hand,' at the 2015 Grammy Awards Sunday night.

The song appears on Clark's Grammy-nominated debut album, '12 Stories,' which was up for Best Country Album this year. She was also nominated in the all-genre category of Best New Artist.

Clark's music is premised in simple storytelling, and the song provided a nice contrast from some of the other performances on the broadcast, centering around acoustic guitar figures and a sweet, evocative melody. When Yoakam joined in with harmonies underneath her lead vocal, it only served to lift the song to another level, earning a huge ovation from the Grammy audience.

Clark is best known as a songwriter who has written for the Band Perry, Miranda Lambert and Kacey Musgraves, but the independent success of her full-length debut has earned her a new contract with Warner Bros.
