Big Sky Big Grass

The 8th Annual Big Sky Big Grass Festival is bringing more big name bluegrass talent known worldwide & the Big Sky Big Grass Regional Band Showcase is happening tomorrow (Thursday) through this Sunday down at Big Sky Resort. The Appalachian inspired music will resonate through Big Sky Resort. It will be like "The Sound Of Music"...the hills will be alive with the sound of music! The Infamous Stringdusters kick off the festival tomorrow (Thursday), playing at Whiskey Jack's with their pop bluegrass music. On On Friday, in the Missouri ballroom, are world renowned master autharpist, singer, songwriter, storyteller & performing artist, Bryan Bowers, Tony Trischka Territory, & Darol Anger & Friends. Featured bands this Saturday in the Missouri ballroom include "Two Bit Franks", Chris Jones, & Sam Bush Band. Wrapping up the weekend on Sunday in the Missouri ballroom, there'll be "The Travelin' McCourys, sons of the bluegrass legend Del McCoury, Drew Emmitt Band with the famous "Leftover Salmon" mandolin player, Drew Emmitt, & an encore with the Infamous Stringdusters. The Big Sky Big Grass Regional band Showcase is at Whiskey Jack's from 3:30 to 5:30 with "Holler N' Pine" & Big Sky's own "Driftwood Grinners" on Friday, "Kitchen Dwellers" on Saturday, & "Lil' Smokies" on Sunday. This long running festival merges with the Big Sky Big Grass Music Academy & features well known instructors from all walks of the bluegrass community. Sounds like a blast this weekend down at Big Sky. 1st thing that I'm going to do is try to find out what an "Autharpist" actually is. Perhaps it is an "author" who is "ticked off."!
