A True Survivor
She's Margaret (Peggy) Bell (1888-1982,) & we're reading her unforgettable story in the book, "When Montana and I Were Young; A Frontier Childhood," up at the Marias Heritage Center here in Shelby. Lost for almost half a century & NEVER before published, "When Montana and I Were Young" is a remarkable primary account of a child's life in the early part of the 20th century. Margaret Bell was a rancher & horse breaker whose memoir tells the story of a frontier childhood on the high plains of Montana & Canada. I'll be reading & sharing more of Margaret's saga this evening (Tuesday) at 6 o'clock SHARP up at the Marias Heritage Center. Fasten your seatbelts!
